Joseph E. Cadmus was born in Teaneck, New Jersey on June 17, 1963. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina (B.A. 1986). He received an academic scholarship and his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law (JD 1990). He practiced for a short time in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1992 and United States District Court in 1997. He began his career in South Carolina as a Charleston County Public Defender. Throughout the remainder of the 1990’s he practiced in the civil law field doing both plaintiff and defense work, while maintaining a criminal law practice. Since January 1, 2000, he has been a sole practitioner primarily focusing on Criminal Defense (DUI, Drug Offenses etc.), Personal Injury (Auto Accidents) and Workers Compensation. He is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
